Access: The church is generally kept unlocked during daylight hours and is accessible through the South porch on the Exeter Street side of the building, opposite side to the lych gate and cobbled path.

 

Parking: St Peter's does not have a dedicated car park but street parking can usually be found in the Square; along Essington Road or in Exeter Street - all within walking distance of the church.  At busy times parking is tricky in North Tawton, so if you are coming for a big service or an event please allow plenty of time to park.

 

St Peter's Churchyard: If you are visiting St Peter's in search of a particular headstone or memorial then please do get in touch with one of the church wardens.  The churchyard was closed to burials in the early 1900's, so anyone buried in North Tawton since then is buried in the Town Cemetery on Exeter Street (For further information contact the Town Clerk).  There are hundreds of headstones in St Peter's churchyard, many of which are heavily weathered, but the vicar does possess an accurate record of every grave.  So please do get in touch before you come to save a long and possibly fruitless search.
